Providing Dental Care to Kids in Need at Volunteers of America of Upstate New York

Every child deserves a bright confident smile, but tooth decay is the most common chronic disease among children in our nation today. The Major League Baseball Players Trust and Volunteers of America believe that the sooner children begin getting regular dental checkups, the healthier their mouths will stay throughout their lives.

And that’s why the Players Trust gave a generous grant to Volunteers of America of Upstate New York (in partnership with the Rochester General Health System) to fund an onsite dental clinic housed within their children’s daycare center.

The dental clinic provides early checkups and cleanings to help prevent cavities and tooth decay among the center’s children. Checkups that they may not receive because their parents or caregivers may lack adequate funds, or the insurance necessary to get routine dental care.

The kids' beautiful smiles are one more reason the Major League Baseball Players Trust and Volunteers of America work together to make lives better for those in need. Watch as our tiny tots learn how to care for their teeth!
