Volunteers of America Honors Juice Plus+ Founder and President Jay Martin with its 2016 Ballington and Maud Booth Award

Booth_2016NatlConf.jpgVolunteers of America, one of the nation's largest and oldest human service charities, has awarded its highest honor – the 2016 Ballington and Maud Booth Award – to Juice Plus+ Founder and President Jay Martin in recognition of almost three decades dedicated in support of America's most vulnerable people.

Volunteers of America National President and CEO Mike King said, "Jay Martin is a remarkable businessman and an incredibly generous philanthropist. Jay, Juice Plus+ and its associated companies and foundations have supported Volunteers of America, both financially and through gifts of the company's products, for many, many years. They have helped countless people served by our organization nationwide, and I am tremendously proud and honored to present him with the 2016 Booth Award."

Volunteers of America presents the Booth Award each year to individuals who demonstrate distinguished service to humanity. The award is named after Ballington and Maud Booth, who founded Volunteers of America with a promise to "go wherever we are needed and do whatever comes to hand." Previous winners include Ambassador Andrew Young, country music superstar Glen Campbell, Nancy Reagan and Gen. Eric Shinseki.

"I'm extremely honored to receive the 2016 Ballington and Maud Booth Award," Martin said. "Volunteers of America's commitment to helping those in need live healthy, happy and productive lives is one reason why I've continued to stay involved for more than 25 years. I'm humbled to join the list of remarkable people who have received this award over the years and I'm looking forward to continuing the great work moving forward."

Juice Plus+ has been a strong supporter of Volunteers of America since 1988, helping to deliver community programs that deal with today's most pressing social needs, including child daycare, homeless outreach and low-income housing.
