Home Depot Renovates Shelter for Homeless Female Veterans and Battered Women and Children

Thanks to more than 150 volunteers form the Home Depot, residents at Volunteers of America Colorado Branch's Brandon Center for Battered Women and Children can also enjoy nature - right outside their homes.

Through its Team Depot Program, The Home Depot Foundation awarded $20,000 to Volunteers of America Colorado Branch for the Brandon Center project as part of its “Women in Leadership” event. The Brandon Center/Theodora House is a 118-bed shelter in the metro area providing emergency shelter for homeless women and their children as well as homeless female veterans. The project included a total renovation, including landscaping and an extreme makeover of two community rooms and a computer room.

The Home Depot Foundation’s Team Depot Program supports the work that local nonprofit organizations, public schools and other community organizations are doing to improve the physical health of their neighborhoods.
