Home Depot Beautifies Clermont Commons, Transitional Homes for Female Veterans
Clermont Commons, a group of transitional homes for female veterans in Colorado, is the only program of its kind in a six-state region and has been touted by the Department of Veterans Affairs for its revolutionary approach and effectiveness.
A three-home project in the Denver, Colorado area, two of the Clermont Commons properties have been entirely renovated to house formerly homeless female veterans and their children in a group transitional housing environment. All of the veterans are assigned a Volunteers of America Colorado Branch case manager, as well as a contact with the Veteran's Association.
And now, while healing and living in a safe environment, the veterans and their children can enjoy the beauty and nature of Colorado right from their own yards.
Thanks to the Home Depot Foundation and local Colorado Home Depot volunteers, the yards of Clermont Commons were recently beautified by the installation of two gardens, a paved patio, a path with pavers, a children's playground area and much more.
